About this course

Technological developments go very fast. Especially in the field of digital output, variations appear on the market almost every day. In order to provide you with a good insight into the characteristics and recognisability of the techniques, IDcentre has developed this course. All aspects of digital output are covered during this 3 day training. Not only will you be provided with a lot of current knowledge. You will also get to work with practical examples and research.

Course content

The following topics are covered during this 3 day training:

Day 1

Basic knowledge

The first day you start with a brief refresh of your basic knowledge (including names). After that, you will be given specific information about printers to use. You zoom in on image structure, grid, colour and conversion, subjects that determine the image of digital output. You will gain insight into the matter based on practical examples.

Day 2

Printing techniques

On the second day, the types of the different printing techniques are key. You will also receive a detailed explanation of the operation of the printers. As a student you will work extensively with the available research equipment. You use it, for example, to investigate and distinguish the characteristics of some practical examples. Of course you also make use of various options for digital output, such as:

  • inkjet
  • laser print
  • dye sublimation
  • thermal mass
  • digital offset
  • integrated security techniques
Day 3

During the last day of the course you will pay a lot of attention to the recognition of digital output. In addition, you will study the following components:

  • image composition
  • grids and structures
  • technique-specific artefacts

No, the course fee will be charged afterwards. Payment in installments is also possible, we request that you contact IDcentre for this.

There are possibilities for deduction of study costs. For these conditions, we refer you to the website of the tax authorities (in Dutch “Belastingdienst”).

How many teaching moments can I miss?

All course days must be completed for each course. If you cannot follow a class, please contact IDcentre. Regarding the courses, the advice is not to miss a single lesson but if this is the case, please contact IDcentre so that a suitable solution can be found.

How many self study hours are involved?

This course requires no self study hours.
